/ Laboratory Automation
MRI works at the forefront of automation technology developing high-precision systems that rapidly and efficiently handle large-volume repetitive tasks. We are partnering with a plant genetics company to apply our automation expertise to a wide range of activities from crop fields to laboratories. A prime example of this expertise is the design of an automated sampling strategy to determine the presence of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). This project involves a prototype instrument that can:
Automated leaf harvesting, sampling, storage, DNA extraction, and analysis by PCR are just a few of the areas that MRI is automating to provide increased sampling and analytical throughput. We can perform genetic analyses via PCR and TaqMan and grow proprietary crop strains in fenced outdoor areas in secure laboratories. |
