Process Design and Evaluation

With more than 30 years of experience combustion, waste incineration, and thermal oxidation, MRI performs design and evaluation services for specialized processes. We support industry and government groups
in designing effective processes and
evaluating process design for efficiency
and potential by-product formation.

A key example of our process design expertise is a project in which MRI
designed and tested a hybrid waste combustion device that used UV radiation
to enhance the destruction of chlorinated organic solvents. Designed for the U.S. EPA, this system was tested using concentrated solar energy at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado. The combustion equipment developed can now be used to examine the performance of a variety of combustion-based processes.

MRI's process evaluation activities are supported by extensive field test and laboratory facilities. This combination of high-level engineering expertise with cutting-edge laboratory and field test capabilities gives MRI a special niche in the fields of process design and evaluation.
